In this July 22nd webinar, Tom opens with an “urgent public service announcement” about what he calls “SIT,” or the “syndrome of insufficient thinking,” to comment on public health messaging and critical thinking.

Tom then discusses Cryptosporidium and gives a brief update on what it is and whether people need to be worried. Tom also announces that for the next four weeks, Wednesday webinars will be led by the specialists from the New Biology Clinic so viewers can hear from different members of the clinic team.

We come to you with this update as a resurgence of sit has been dumped into the people's minds all across the nations. What is sit, you might ask? It is the constipation in one's own critical thinking. And you might also be asking, how does this nasty sit spread? It spreads mostly by those who are riddled with the most sit. But do not fear, as we are here to bring you breaking news on any and all incidences of sit that may arise. Stay safe, protect others, and most of all, avoid the sit storm. This is Dr. Tom Cowan coming to you from the Situation Room. Good evening and good night. Okay, welcome back, everybody. Um, that was the urgent public health message. I also have another one because people have been writing in and asking me about cryptosporidium, which uh we got that wrong on the announcement. It's not Cyclospora Cryptosporidium. And we will also be on the lookout for other people who are plagued with uh this uh nasty form of sit in the coming days, weeks, and months. Uh so I'm going to do a little uh just a quick update on what is this crypto sporidium? Do we all have to be quaking in our boots as we are told? Uh and then in the next uh I think four weeks, uh, we're going to instead of me doing the Wednesday webinar, a one of the practitioners from the New Biology Clinic will be doing that. And so you'll get a chance to be exposed to many of the different practitioners who work in our amazing New Biology Clinic. So again, thanks for joining me. Uh today is July 22nd, 2026. And I think uh that's it. So let's get to it. Uh I wasn't sure how to pronounce it at first, but uh it's cryptosporidium is the name. So let me just uh show you some things here. So first this is from the CDC, I think it may have been from uh uh the Firefox uh AI. But anyways, so what is cryptosporidiosis? Is a diarrhea disease, and here's the important word caused by the microscopic parasite cryptosporidium, spread through contaminated water, contact with infected stool, symptoms, watery diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, usually lasts one to two weeks in healthy adults. Uh and then overview again, it's a microscopic, it's a diarrhea disease cause. That's the important word by a microscopic parasite, cryptosporidium, uh, the symptoms, watery diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and cramping, low grade fever, loss of appetite, fatigue. They clear symptoms clear after two to ten days, usually uh, and some people can be asymptomatic. Of course, that's always the case. You can get it from contaminated water, contaminated food like fruits and vegetables, which is allegedly the source of the uh outbreak that's sweeping the nation now, which is from the lettuce on Taylor Farms food that has been shopped or distributed in various sites, including Taco Bell and other places. And this sounds pretty benign, except uh what we're told also, and what I remember, what little I knew about this and from medical school and medical training, is that in the immunocompromise, this can be actually become a deadly disease. So it was particularly an issue with people with AIDS. Uh this also can occur be uh difficult and even very uh problematic in people on cancer, chemotherapy, and other immunosuppressive drugs. Okay. So the questions that we want to answer here, uh everybody uh so this is the common explanation. And again, I was uh saying the cause the important word is this is a diarrhea disease caused by the microscopic parasite cryptosporidium. So they specifically use the word cause. So the two questions that I wanted to answer when I was looking into this were number one, uh, is there actually a free-living organism called Cryptosporidium? And this is something that those of you who have seen my uh video, my webinar on the malaria parasite know that uh the existence of these parasites is very much in doubt. And we're talking about single-celled organisms that are called protozoa. Uh there's other kinds of parasites called worms, which certainly do exist. But the parasites, um of them, maybe all of them, but certainly some of them, like the one that's allegedly the cause of malaria, certainly seems to be a microscopic artifact, meaning the forms that are identified in the microscope under the microscope and that are labeled as the malaria parasite are actually uh what they're looking at is the breakdown of red blood cells under certain toxic conditions, particularly in the case of malaria with bad air, malarea, uh, and when they're stained in a very particular way, they become the 17 different stages of the life cycle of this alleged parasite. So that doesn't mean that all of these protozoa, these microscopic parasites, are artifacts. It certainly means that there's a uh significant question about the malaria parasite. So the question I wanted to answer was is Cryptosperdium another microscopic artifact, or is it a free living organism? That's what that's the specific question. In other words, can you go out in nature, in ponds, or in other places on lettuce or whatever, and find this parasite? And you can demonstrate that it's not because of the breakdown of anybody's intestine, uh, an animal or person, it is a free living organism with its own life cycle. Or is it an artifact of the breakdown of our own tissue with certain staining techniques? And that is the first question I wanted to answer. Because obviously, if it's not a free living organism, then there can be no possible way it's the cause of any kind of disease, including diarrhea. So that's the first question. The second question I wanted to try to answer in this past week looking into this was it been demonstrated that if in fact there is an organism called Cryptosporidium, that it has been shown to be the cause of this disease associated with diarrhea and can be more severe in people who are immunocompromised. So those are the two issues that I'm trying to address. Uh all the other uh people seem to be addressing everything that's sort of downstream from that, but I want, as always, to get to the root of it. Is this organism actually real? Is it a free-living uh species? And if so, has it been shown to be the cause of this disease? So that's what I'm going to address today. So I tried to find some papers that maybe address this, and here's what I came up with. This was a paper from the New England Journal in twenty two. You can see this citation at the top, and again, you can see this uh cryptosperdiosis uh is caused by cryptosperdium. So there we see the word cause. Uh parasite classified as an emerging pathogen by the CDC, infects the GI epithelium, that's the lining to produce diarrhea, that is self-limiting in immunocompetent people, uh but life-threatening in the immunocompromise, especially those with AIDS. Infection by the parasite accounts for up to 6% of all diarrhea diseases in immunocompetent people, that's normal people. So 6% of all diarrhea is caused by this organism, they say. The infection is present in up to 24% of people with AIDS and diarrhea worldwide. Uh there's some estimates of uh something in Milwaukee, etc. And so then they go down to describe the parasite, an intracellular parasite within the protist phylum. And the species are recognized uh on the basis of differences in host specificity and oocyte morphology. That means how the eggs look uh under a microscope. Uh and so they say there's one that's the most common species, but one of the first clues to me that this was um this may not be a real organism is you see the common species and then other many different subspecies, particularly in immunocompromised hosts. Uh there's different kinds that infect different animals, of course, and then they go through, and I'll show you the all the different life stages. So I think there was up to something like 14 or 16 different uh subspecies, and that's not proof of anything, but it's certainly uh smacks of that they're not looking at uh distinct subspecies or subtypes of this organism, but they're looking at different breakdown products of the intestines of these sick people, that is, people with AIDS and people with diarrhea. And so they see many different forms, not because they're different subspecies, but because different people have different toxins, different conditions in their bowel, different conditions in their epithelial lining in their bowel, and so they all look slightly different, and unfortunately, those are called different species. When we get to the epidemiology, the uh be it's particularly of interest because of its association with uh the immunocompromise mostly AIDS patient, um and it's also they say widespread. But the question still remains has anybody proven that this is actually a free living organism, not just that your intestine breaks down into these 14 different types, which are then called different subspecies, these are different egg forms, but might be just different microscopic artifacts of the diff of the breakdown of the intestinal lining. So then they go on to a whole lot of things about where you can find these cysts and uh all the different immunological features, and then they talk about how they don't really know how this cryptosperdium uh actually causes diarrhea, but uh certainly it does because we see the eggs. So, again, this is a situation where they see these different uh so-called egg forms in the microscope with very specific staining in people who are sick. And the more sick they are, the more so-called immunocompromised they are, the more different forms they see, and the more of them. Uh and that's to me is a long way from proving that this is a free living organism that was the cause of this disease. So then I went on, and here's a uh picture from that, and so you can see all the different uh life cycle forms and a proposed mechanism of how it attaches to your tissue, and then you get the eggs, and the eggs are ingested, and then the different forms. And again, all these actually look like the different breakdown products of the intestinal villi. And then supposedly these are proof, but these again are this looks like SARS-CoV-2. Uh, these are different uh microscopic pictures, some of them look like electron microscope, where they use different stains and they get these nonspecific forms. And this one is one species, and this one is another, and this one is another. And I'm no expert in microscopy, but they uh look like just different forms of breakdown of your intestinal uh lining. Okay, so then I went on uh to look at a different article, and this one had some very interesting things that I wanted to point out. Um and again, this was uh here's the citation. This was in January 2013. Uh you can't see the article. The American Society for Microbiology. Uh, and you can see the DO DOI number if anybody wants to look this up. And again, they have a summary, which is a protozoa parasite of uh medical importance, causes gastroenteritis, uh different reported different degrees of pathogenicity and virulence. It means uh the strength of which it causes the infection among different species and isolates of the same species. Um then they go into the different genetic factors, etc. Um, there say, nevertheless, substantial progress is made in identifying the putative virulence factors. In other words, they're still trying to figure out why some of these little egg forms are more virulent, cause more disease than others. Uh, and this has been accelerated since the publication of the genomes, uh, etc. They always like the genomes. So, what was very interesting to me about this is, and I'm going to again read this, uh, because it's it's such an interesting comment on the whole uh concept of infectious disease and the germ theory. Uh, we we should remember that in the in the onset, in the heyday, in the origin of the germ theory, so we have an origin story, uh, we have these microorganisms which were allegedly all different species. They there was no pleomorphism, which means one type of organism uh essentially developing into another. They were all different species, like giraffes and elephants and monkeys or chimpanzees and daffodils, etc. So there was uh anthrax and strep and uh cryptosporidium. These are all like one is uh elephants and one is giraffes, and elephants don't come become giraffes, and uh strep doesn't become anthrax, and anthrax doesn't become fungus, and none of these become cryptosporidium. They're all different organisms like giraffes and elephants. Uh, this was, however, disputed by the early proponents, Baychamp and others, of pleomorphism, and this has been continued through the years, where they actually visualize these different uh forms morphing into one another depending on their conditions, and they had good reason, therefore, to postulate that these different forms did not arise from uh de novo infection from the outside. They were not organisms that you ingested from the outside, but rather they were creations from your microzyma, which is the precursor to all these microorganisms. And depending on the terrain or the conditions in your body, you made the appropriate type to help you essentially detoxify and uh get rid of the dead and dying tissue in your body. And so there was something, totally something else that caused the disease, which caused the dead and dying tissue, and then the appropriate microbe, whether a parasite or a protozoa or a fungus or a bacteria, uh, would form, uh be essentially pushed to form by the microzyma. That's called pleomorphism, and that's why you see them in certain cases of diarrhea, particularly if there's the same cause or the same toxic effect or the same drugs that are being ingested, etc. So that's two totally different uh points of view. But what I point want to point out is that when they say causative agent, and the early days they say our understanding of infectious disease was influenced by Koch and Pasteur, who demonstrated the relationship between the microbial world and disease, although in fact they didn't. But their concept was these are separate species. You ingest them, they cause disease, period. It's the organism from the outside, which is the causative agent. It had little, if anything, to do with who you are, your situation, whether you were poisoned or not, etc. And that was how uh the whole uh field of infectious disease developed. But so it's very interesting to read uh this what they have to say in this uh review article from very recently. Their work and the rationale led directly to the identification and characterization of the etiological agents of the world's major infectious disease. In other words, different organisms causing different diseases. Subsequent investigators, however, noted that the causal relationship between microbes and disease can be less straightforward than originally envisioned by Koch and Pasteur. That's an uh interesting statement. You mean it isn't like what they say one organism caused one disease? With the variety of host and pathogen factors affecting the occurrence and outcome of the disease, particularly in cases of opportunistic infections associated with a compromised host immune system. So that's a lot of gobbledydook to say, yeah, so we looked into it and he found out it isn't quite like we thought. It isn't just one disease causing uh one organism causing disease in everybody, like we told you. Uh, we disprove that, but we're not going to drop the whole thing. The organisms are still there, they still, quote, cause disease, but it has something to do with the host's uh, quote, immune system. Uh, and considering this dichotomy, Eisenberg reflected in 1988 that while, quote, doubt about the meaning of pathogenicity and virulence seems inappropriate, if not ridiculous, the traditional vocabulary associated with infectivity and virulence was nevertheless insufficiently well defined to accommodate contemporary observations and clinically important infectious disease. So, in other words, they had to back this off and say that there's a lot of factors, and then they go on to say, and we can learn about these factors by genome sequencing and transcriptonomics and genetic manipulation and blah, blah, blah. But basically, these are all rescue devices because they realized that it wasn't so simple that these free-living organisms, so-called, were not necessarily the cause of disease because most of the people who are quote in contact with these, including Cryptosporidium, end up being asymptomatic. In fact, nothing happens. Uh, and so you don't even know uh whether, and that's not even accounting for the fact that we haven't even proven that in this case it's actually a free living organism. So I thought this very interesting that even in the conventional medical community, they're backing off. So now it's uh just like a lot of the so-called freedom doctors and uh uh speakers and and influencers are saying, so we believe in both the terrain and the germ theory. So it's an altered terrain, and then the germs get you, but this is a rescue device. Uh we still haven't proven that these uh microorganisms cause disease in anybody. Okay. So then they uh go into the contemporary description of virulence. This means the ability uh I'll read here, commonly defined as the ability of a microorganism to cause disease. It should be straightforward. In other words, you take the microorganism, you give it to a bunch of well people and well animals, and you show it causes disease. Uh I can guarantee you, after a few days of looking, that with Cryptosporidium this has never been done. I looked and asked AI and looked everywhere I could to find one study where they took these free-living alleged uh oocytes, uh had animals or people ingest them, and whether they're immunocompromised or not, and show that they cause disease. And I can tell you that that does not exist. That, of course, doesn't prove that it's not a disease-causing organism, but it certainly suggests, or it certainly demonstrates, that the claim that the this uh diarrhea disease is caused by this has not been demonstrated. Not by anybody who's willing to think about this. Uh, you that's the only way to do it. Isolate the variable. The variable is the cis, take any one of these cis, show that it causes disease, and that has never been done. And so we do we at this point, a don't even know if it's a real organism, and b have no evidence that this organism, if it exists, even causes disease. So virulence and pathogenicity are often used interchangeably, but virulence may be used to indicate the degree of pathogenicity, whereas pathogenicity is used solely to describe the ability of a pathogen to inflict damage to the host. Uh they go on with other parsing words. Um going down a little bit, pathogen-centered views of virulence assert that pathogens are distinguished from non-path pathogens by the expression of virulence factors. Although this concept appears to apply to some microbes that cause disease in healthy hosts, it has been pointed out that this does not apply to microbes that, like Cryptosporidium, cause disease, serious disease primarily in immunocompromised hosts. By the way, you can see there's no citation that you could look up, which I tried to do to show that any microbe causes disease in healthy hosts. They conveniently omitted that, and only show that cryptosporidium can be found in severely sick people. While earlier definitions of pathogen-sented pathogenicity and virulence are understandable, the modern consensus is that neither microbe nor host characteristics can independently cause disease. Virulence, despite being a microbial characteristic, can exist only in a susceptible host and depends on the context and nature of the host-microbe interaction. So, in other words, they're backing off of the germ theory and saying, yeah, we don't really know, especially in a case like cryptosporidium, that this organism can cause disease. It depends on the whole lot of factors to do with not only the cryptosporidium, but more importantly with the host. So this is really a terrain host issue, and never mind the whole germ theory. Now, of course, they're not willing to go that far. Uh, they're in a so-called steps of unlearning and are not willing to actually do to be uh actual scientific about it and say, well, we should be able to find that this there's one study that shows that this organism causes disease, which they don't have. Uh they're not willing to do that yet. Neither are the people in the health freedom community, but you can absolutely see that this is where this is going. Okay, so that gives us a certain overview of Cryptosporidium, which now we sort of are in the sense of we don't know whether this thing is even real, and we certainly have no proof that this thing causes disease, and we have a lot of things to tell us that it's not a real organism, that it's an artifact, and it does certainly does not cause disease or been shown to in healthy people. Therefore, there's no reason to worry about being infected by this organism. And then, of course, people are going to say, so what is causing these people to have diarrhea? And the whole new biology and new biology clinic take on that is it's individual and very different, maybe for different people. Some of them are taking drugs which interfere with their intestinal function, some of them are doing things like washing out their intestine and taking lots of antibiotics and doing all kinds of things which one should never do into one bot into one's uh intestinal tract. But here was another interesting uh take on this, which gives us an yet another way to look at this. And I'm not saying this is a absolute proof of anything, but uh somebody sent me this, and this is an image of smoke from wildfires. Uh you uh a lot of people, especially in northern United States, have been exposed to very smoky, nasty smelling and tasting air, and we know that in the smoke there's all these different things, and all of these different things have been shown to cause diarrhea. And then if you look at uh the incidence of the crypto sporidium outbreaks, it is remarkably similar to the image of where the wildfires have uh are have concentrated, and these things have all been found in these wildfires. And again, I'm not saying that's the proof or saying that the only cause of diarrhea or the only cause of having these cryptosporidium eggs and spores in your intestine is in inhaling these various factors from wildfires, but it's certainly an interesting thing, and it's again the tragedy of this, uh, amongst many others, is not only does it produce it produce fear and avoiding things which one shouldn't avoid, but these things are never actually looked into, and so we can't actually give the proof that these are the cause of this because nobody's looking into this, and that's because everybody is so wedded to the germ theory that they can't see that there's a whole lot of real-world things that actually do exist and actually do interfere with your intestinal function. Many drugs, antibiotics, many lifestyle practices, and all these inhalants absolutely cause diarrhea. We know this for sure, and nobody looks into whether this is actually the cause. And I just want to finish with a comment, which is again something that I can't prove, but then when uh the to me, the powers that shouldn't be are incredibly clever, and so then you hear stories like uh that this crypto sporidium is found on Taylor Farms lettuce, and mind you, I'm no fan of Taylor Farms, but then we hear that the owner, president, or whoever of Taylor Farms had a meeting with Trump, and he exonerated them and said the test was a false positive, and that makes uh the Trump haters scream with vengeance about how corrupt he is, and I'm not saying that Trump isn't corrupt, but they say, but the what that drives into the people is you see, this corrupt guy actually exonerates Taylor Farms, and they and we're going to overlook a dramatic cause of diarrhoea, which is going to kill off many in the population, particularly the immunocompromise. So, in a funny sort of way, that story actually embeds into the people that there is this uh germ, this cryptosporidium, this parasite, which is the cause of the problem. We don't need to look anywhere else. Uh, and uh our corruption is going to get us to overlook this problem, and we're going to let cryptosporidium spread throughout the country and kill us all. And it's all a very clever ploy to actually inculcate in the people, even more so, that this is the culprit, and we're so corrupt that we let these culprits who who have these agricultural practices that lead to cryptosporidium growing on the lettuce. Never mind the way they grow their food, never mind the pesticides, never mind the herbicides, never mind the spraying in the air, never mind the uh drugs and the antibiotics and the AIDS drugs for a non-existent virus. Never mind all that. It's just cryptosporidium, and our corrupt CDC, the Center for Deceit and Corruption, is going to miss it and leave us all vulnerable. And shouldn't we need to refund the CDC and have them protect us for uh otherwise we'll be vulnerable to this deadly parasite? And it's all a big crock. Okay, so hopefully that gives you uh an overview of cryptosporidium, and nobody's going to be uh worried about getting cryptosporidium explosive diarrhea. And again, thanks everybody for listening.
